PROACTIVE MAINTENANCE OF ROLLER BEARINGS Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC G01M13/04

Abstract RU 2534562 C2

FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates, in general, to proactive maintenance of roller bearings, in particular; to maintenance-oriented monitoring, based on the condition of roller bearings in servos operating at arbitrary variable low speed and with (cyclic) reversing of motion, for example in servos used in bottle-filling machines or distributive equipment of packing lines, designed with a possibility to form the sealed packages with food products. The offered group of inventions relates to the methods of prediction of defects in roller bearings and to the digital signal processing system configured to implement the method. Meanwhile the method of prediction of defects in roller bearings, when the roller bearing comprises internal and external rings and rolling elements, distributed uniformly along the circle, includes the following: processing (in DSP-system 8) of the position signal (x (t)), indicating the relative angular position of inner ring with reference to outer rings, and the vibration signal (y (t)) (by means of accelerometer 7), indicating the speed-related vibrations in the roller bearing, so they correspond either to angle displacement of rolling elements equal to integer value of angular intervals between contiguous rolling elements, or integer value of full rotations of an inner ring with reference to the outer ring; spatial discretisation (in the analogue-digital board 9 for data collection) of the processed vibration signal (y (t)) on the basis of processed position signal (x (t)); and prediction of defects in the roller bearing on the basis of spatially discretised vibration signal (y (t)).

EFFECT: obtaining of technology, which allows to use the estimate observation by the orders also to servos, which operate at arbitrary variable low rotation speed, and subjected to cyclic reversing of the motion and make approximately one rotation of the shaft in terms of cycle, for example to servos used for food packaging applications in order to predict satisfactorily the defects of servo roller bearings, thus improving the of efficiency of the current equipment maintenance programs, and also minimising operation and maintenance costs.
