FIELD: measurement; testing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metrology, in particular to a method for diagnosing rolling bearings. Method of determining properties of bearings comprises determining information related to properties of bearings by evaluating a signal from a receiver. Periodic signal from the receiver is evaluated by determining the average amplitude, the average signal transmission time, the standard deviation of the amplitude, the standard deviation of the transmission time, the time variation of the envelope of the receiver signal, the period of the receiver signal, or performing frequency analysis of the receiver signal. Lubricant parameters are then evaluated, wherein signal evaluation involves calculating the difference between the reference value and the amplitude of the received signal. Defects of the bearing structure are then determined. When evaluating parameters, information obtained from surface acoustic waves, to which the investigated part of the bearing is exposed, is used.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy and reliability of diagnosis.
