FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: method and system of soot quality estimation in particulate filter in the exhaust gases cleaning system, at that estimation is linked with use of pressure drop on the particulate filter to determine the soot quantity. As per the invention the measurements of the pressure drop on the particulate filter, and hence this estimation is performed at the time, when mass flow rate of the exhaust gases via the exhaust gases cleaning system exceed the limit value, the particulate filter in principle is free of water, and the particulate filter temperature exceeds the first limit value.

EFFECT: accurate and authentic estimation of soot quantity in the particulate filter to minimise effect on the estimation of accuracy and resolution capability of the used transmitters, and condensate effect in the particulate filter.
