FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to internal combustion engines, particularly, to particulate filters. Vehicle system comprises engine (10). Exhaust system (151) is connected with engine. Exhaust system contains particulate filter (170), first oxygen sensor (127), second oxygen sensor (128) and controller (12). Controller comprises commands stored in long-term memory (106) to estimate the amount of water accumulated in the particulate filter in accordance with the output signals of the first and second oxygen sensors. Content of water in the exhaust gases serves as a basis for determining the amount of soot accumulated in the particulate filter. Disclosed are methods of regenerating a particulate filter.
EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of estimating amount of soot accumulated in particulate filter using two oxygen sensors, which enables to provide for timely regeneration of particulate filter without additional costs for pressure sensors.
