FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of horizontal structure of growing stock using the radar-location. The result is achieved due to that in the offered method the sensing is performed by short-pulse radar, registration of oscillograms of the reflected signals, execution of analog-digital conversion of signals, their renormalization taking into account the attenuation of signals, in terms of conversion of the level of the reflected signals into the power levels and in terms of recalculation of time of arrival of the reflected signals into the distance, forming a set of projections of the oscillograms, receiving of radiotomogram, representing mosaic of discrete areas of the test area of forest, conforming to levels of power of the reflected signals vs the distances, the counter plot representing 2D distribution of levels of reflected signals in relative units is made, in the counter plot the areas with the values from 0.8 up to 1 are selected, these areas are compressed in points corresponding to positions of trees in the test area of the forest, obtaining the spatial structure of the point field, which is analyzed using the radial distribution function ensuring determination of the type of distribution of trees.

EFFECT: improvement of quality of detailed analysis of horizontal structure of the growing stock.
