FIELD: motors and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the cooling system of internal combustion engine. The method of controlling the switch water pump for water coolant loop in internal combustion engine is proposed, which consists in monitoring the parameter describing the cylinder head temperature, and in case, when the specified temperature falls below the setting, at least one on-off cycle for the switch water pump is performed, and the on-off cycle contains, at least, the first phase, during which the water pump is switched off within the period T1, and the second phase, during which the water pump is switched on within the period T2. The motor for the method implementation, and control unit are also considered.

EFFECT: invention provides the decrease of energy consumption and improves the motor efficiency.
