FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for starting an internal combustion engine (ICE) having a crankshaft and an electric rotary device (ERD) operatively connected to a crankshaft. Absolute angular position of the crankshaft is determined, which is related to the position of the upper dead point of the piston in the combustion chamber of ICE. At the first level electric power supply is supplied to ERD for crankshaft rotation. Then, at the second level, electric power is supplied to the ERD more than at the first level, when the piston reaches the preset position before the TDC position. Fuel is injected into the combustion chamber after the piston moves beyond the TDC position. Then fuel ignites. ICE implementation is started in less than 110 degrees of crankshaft turn.

EFFECT: invention discloses a method for starting an internal combustion engine.
