FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine building. A rotary engine includes a housing with end walls and an internal toroid-shaped closed surface with inlet and outlet nozzles, left and right rotors, O-rings installed in the end walls, and gears for transfer of torque to the output shaft of the engine. Rotors are made in the form of separate discs, to which pistons are rigidly attached, which have coaxial shafts. Left and right shafts of the rotors are inserted in the corresponding free-wheel clutches, on which torque transfer gears are fixed.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improvement of operating life of an engine due to elimination of action of centrifugal forces of pistons on an internal curved surface of the housing, improvement of quality of seals of variable volume chambers, and increasing engine power and efficiency.
