FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: rotary toroidal engine comprises stationary housing with intake and exhaust valves, pistons and ignition plugs. Working cylinder features toroidal structure to accommodate two arc-like pistons with compression rings. First piston is rigidly fixed in engine housing. Second piston is rigidly secured at the rotor. Rotor shaft runs in housing bearings. Overrunning couplings with opposite start torque are fitted on shaft LY and RH shaft sides. Gears are secured at overrunning coupling holders to engage with LH and RH reduction gearbox teeth. Said reduction gear boxes are engaged with output shaft. LH. Reduction gearbox has extra gear to convert direct rotation into reverse rotation unlike the RH reduction gearbox. Seal rings are fitted inside the housing to abut on rotor side surfaces and piston compression rings.
EFFECT: longer life, higher output and efficiency.
