FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises a rod-type transformer with half-windings at each rod, thyristors control unit, thyristors with pick-off diodes between which common connection points there is a commutating capacitor. The thyristors with pick-off diodes and the primary winding of the transformer are connected to clamps of the supply mains and the secondary winding is connected to the load clamps. A pulse transformer is coupled between the primary winding with the same electrodes of the thyristors and the centre tap of the primary winding of the rod-type transformer while its secondary windings are connected in opposition and shunted and through additional thyristors connected to the load clamps and the centre tap of the secondary winding of the rod-type transformer.
EFFECT: welding of metal structures and goods of different thickness during production of installation and repair operations in construction, in household use and other industries of the national economy.
