FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: frontal, ethmoidal or maxillary sinuses are surgically approached. A pathological process is removed from the involved sinus, and an anterior wall defect is filled with an allograft. The soft tissues and skin are closed in layers above the allograft. The allograft represents a plug-shaped cartilage allograft with plate and cylindrical portions with the latter having a diameter by 0.8 mm more than that of the sinus wall defect.
EFFECT: more effective bone defect closure ensured by the properties of the cartilage allograft making it possible to optimise the repairative osteosynthesis process that promotes replacing the cartilage allograft for the bone tissue.
