FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for automatic measurement of volume of a timber bundle, which is on a moving object. In the method the moving object is sent via a measurement device - a measurement frame equipped with laser scanners, which measure the external contour of the bundle, its length and total area of the timber ends. Received data is sent to a computer with software. After processing data is entered into a card with video information about the measured object and by mobile telephone communication is sent to a central base of data accounting. Measurements of the timber bundle volume may be performed in any weather and at any time of the day.

EFFECT: simplified measurement of timber bundle volume regardless of their type, also due to measurement of total area of ends with the help of a scanner.
