SUBSTANCE: medical device for the sinus opening manipulations comprises a handle, a cleanout cover, a guide rail, a guide wire, a balloon catheter and a travelling mechanism of the balloon catheter. The handle comprises a proximal end, a distal end and a longitudinal axis along the handle length. The cleanout cover has a distal end and a proximal end with the proximal end of the cleanout cover attached to the distal end of the handle. The guide rail has a distal end and a proximal end and is partially integrated into the cleanout cover to form an annular gap between the guide rail and the cleanout cover. The guide wire functionally extends from the distal end of the guide rail, and the balloon catheter is at least partially integrated into the handle and the annular gap. The travelling mechanism of the balloon catheter is functionally mounted on the handle and configured to advance and retract the balloon catheter both through the handle, and through the annular gap both along the guide rail, and along the guide wire when the user operates the travelling mechanism of the balloon catheter. A method for the sinus opening manipulations involves partial insertion of the medical device for the sinus opening manipulations into a patient's anatomic element to place the guide wire functionally extending from the guide rail of the medical device into the patient's sinus opening. The method additionally involves advancing the balloon catheter from the annular gap of the medical device both along the guide rail of the medical device, and along the guide wire. The method also involves the sinus opening manipulations by filling the balloon catheter. Within the method, the annular gap is formed between the guide rail and the cleanout cover of the medical device, and advanced by the user controlling the advance mechanism of the balloon catheter of the medical device.
