FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spark erosion, electrochemical and erosion-chemical piercing of holes in metal billets. Proposed device comprises electrode-tool and plug-in sleeve of erosion-proof material connected to power supply, said sleeve being arranged inside said electrode-sleeve to displace therein. Dotty dielectric thrusts in height not over spark gap are made at piercing side. Insulating ply is made on sleeve outer surface. Sleeve inner side is provided with dischargers arranged in tiers to direct working fluid flow with the products of processing from spark gap and connected via regulator and current converter to said power supply. Proposed method comprises processing of the billet by said electrode-tool with said sleeve whereto current pulses are supplied for roughing purposes. Note here that current pulses are feed to electrode-tool to produce flawless surface over the hole entire depth. Note that current pulses are consecutively fed to dischargers inside said sleeve to keep up the working fluid flow with processing products from electrode gap. Note also that said sleeve in electrode-tool is displaces irrespective of its feed with maintenance of spark gap.
EFFECT: high-intensity piercing owing to acceleration of working fluid flow through spark gap and hole processed part.
