FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to rotary drawing with crowning of thin-wall shells from steels and aluminium alloys. Pipe billet after cutting to lengths, calibration, thermal, mechanical and chemical treatment is subjected to rotary drawing with formation of thin-wall section, outer bulges and transition sections in several passes with separation of strains between passes and between rolls. Rolls are shifted radially and axially relative to each other and feature triangular roll profile with rounded and/or flat top inclined to billet axis. Thereafter, rotary straightening of thin-wall part generatrix and rotary reduction of outer bulges to produce inner bulge. Note here that straightening and reduction are made by rolls located in one plane of cross-section with flat top parallel with billet axis. Now, final thermal treatment is performed to reduce internal stresses.
EFFECT: higher precision of sizes and surface quality.
