FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method includes impregnation of substrate with to solution be polymerised and polymerisation of solution on substrate by heating. As substrate used are heat-resistant microfibrous organic polymer materials based on heterocyclic oxydiazole compounds with diameter of fibres from 5 to 20 mcm. Impregnation is performed with solution to be polymerised, prepared by mixing acrylic acid and water solution of alkali metal hydroxide with concentration 10-25 wt %. Ratio of volume of solution to be polymerised and substrate volume in impregnation constitutes 2:1. Polymerisation is realised at temperature 90-110°C.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify technological process, eliminate application of toxic organic solvents, increase sorption capacity and improve kinetics of water steam sorption on sorbent.
