The method includes phase of determination (s440) weather preset operational state of vehicle (100; 110) has been achieved or not, which relates to situation where risk of deposits build-up in exhaust system is increasing. The method also includes phase of taking (s460), if operational state is achieved, at least one measure to counteract deposits build-up. The invention also relates to device improving performance of vehicle (100; 110) which has engine (230) exhaust system with catalyst (260) and to vehicle equipped with such device.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of vehicle operation/ as well as decreased amount of maintenance.
