FIELD: atomic physics.

SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to protective and diagnostic equipment for A-plant fast neutron reactors. A reactor protective device mounted at the A-plant having all known A-plant operation meters and A-plant control and safety systems needed, comprises at least two emergency shutdown rods for the suppression of a chain reaction in emergencies, at least two horizontal and vertical travelling gears mechanically connected to a swivel plug of a reactor vessel roof, two guide members for the unobstructed downward movement of the emergency shutdown rods, two magnet cores and two magnet core anchors, two magnet core coils, two switches with control systems, as well as a supplementary power supply connected to a control system of the second switch. The magnet cores with the coils are rigidly connected to the respective horizontal and vertical travelling gears, while the anchors are connected to heads of the emergency shutdown rods. The magnet core anchors are made of a magnetic material with the Curie temperature adjusted by the chemical composition. That makes it possible to disconnect the first and second coils of the first and second magnet cores automatically if an emergency arises. According to the second embodiment, the protective device comprises two accelerating springs.

EFFECT: speedup of the A-plant protective system.
