FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: salt melt is used which contains calcium chloride with the additives of calcium oxide and boric anhydride at aggregate concentration of additives 6÷7 wt %, during electrolysis a mass ratio of boric anhydride to calcium oxide is maintained within 3.72±0.01 wt %, electrolysis is conducted in the temperature interval 800÷850°C, with initial impulse of density of cathode current 0.50 A/cm2 within 1.5 s, and then at constant current 4.5 A and current density 0.10 A/cm2 within 1.5÷3 hours.

EFFECT: method allows to obtain a target product by direct electrochemical deposition of calcium hexaboride on the cathode, it has an increased current efficiency at the simplified method of obtaining of the target product.
