FIELD: electrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrochemical method for producing microdisperse powders of lanthanide group metal hexaborides doped with calcium. The method includes electrolysis of the CaCl2 melt with additives of boron oxide B2O3, the oxide of the resulting lanthanide Ln2O3 and calcium oxide CaO at a total concentration of oxides B2O3, CaO, Ln2O3 in the melt 8-10 wt. %, of the mass of the electrolyte, the process is carried out in an air atmosphere in the temperature range of 820÷850°C at a cathode current density of 0.4-0.5 A/cm2, during electrolysis, the concentrations of oxides B2O3, CaO, Ln2O3 are kept constant at a ratio of molar fractions of Ca/Ln of at least 1 and no more than 16.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain complex hexaborides of lanthanide group metals doped with calcium.
