SUBSTANCE: invention relates to conveyor energy recovery control. A device (30) for the control of the engine power of a passenger escalator (20) contains a recuperative drive, a control unit. The recuperative drive is designed with a possibility of ensuring transfer of the electric power generated by the engine to the power supply during the escalator movement. The control unit identifies when performance data of the recuperative drive is out of a pre-set range and in response to it prevents the transfer of the electric power to the power supply by the recuperative drive. Also the method of control of the engine power of the escalator (20) and the escalator (20) with the recuperative drive is offered.
EFFECT: use of the recuperative drive in the pre-set operating conditions providing the compliance of the selected performance data of the recuperative drive (for example, current, temperature or both characteristics) to the pre-set range is achieved.
