FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to measurement equipment and can be applied for contact detection between touch detector and object. Invention refers to touch detector for contact detection between touch detector and object, method of touch detector operation, and diagnostic device. Touch detector (100) includes heater (110) modulating heat flow (112). Modulated heat signal (122) is formed depending on modulated heat flow (112). Physical contact with object (800) causes change in modulated heat flow (112), thus affecting modulated heat signal (122). As the heat flow is modulated, changes in modulated heat signal (122) are guaranteed. Contact registration unit (130) of touch detector (100) obtains contact indicator signal (132) from modulated heat signal (122), preferably by demodulator (134), indicating at least presence or absence of physical contact.
EFFECT: improved reliability of touch sensors.
