FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: claimed invention is related to the area of laser-pumped light sources. The claimed device comprises a gas-containing chamber (1), laser (2), optical element (4), plasma-radiating area (6), blocker (8) and optical system for collection of plasma radiation (14). Numbered aperture of the focused laser beam and laser power is selected so that the plasma-radiating area is prolonged along the axis (10) of the focused laser beam. At that brightness of plasma ration is ensured in direction along the beam axis close to the maximum obtained plasma power, and numbered aperture of the laser beam that passed the plasma-radiating area from the second side of the chamber (11) is less than numbered aperture of the laser beam from the first side (5) of the chamber due to plasma lens formation in the plasma-radiating area. Moreover, the optical system for collection of plasma radiation is placed at the second side of the chamber.
EFFECT: expansion of functionality of laser-pumped light source due to intensification of brightness, increased coefficient of laser absorption by plasma, significant reduction of numbered aperture of the blocked divergent laser beam that passed through plasma.
