FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of high-brightness broadband light sources. The laser-pumped light source comprises a chamber filled with gas at high pressure, an area of emitting plasma supported in the chamber by a focused beam of a continuous laser; at least one plasma emission beam exiting the chamber, a plasma-igniting tool. The plasma-igniting tool constitutes a pulse laser system generating no less than one pulse laser beam focused into a chamber consisting of a tube, a bottom and a cover; one end of the tube is hermetically connected with the bottom, and the other end of the tube is hermetically connected with the cover. The cover is made of metal, intended for filling the chamber with gas, and part or detail of the cover is made in the form of a concave spherical mirror with the centre in the area of the emitting plasma.
EFFECT: increase in the spatial and power stability of a high-brightness laser-pumped light source.
