FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: method contains operations during which electric loop is created by a pair of edge rails to which main and reference branches of loop circuits are connected by means of engagement of brushes with rail heads, monitoring signals are transmitted via created electric loop, electric loop continuity is checked. Wheels contact with railtracks monitoring is implemented by open-circuit monitoring device installed on vehicle when electric current is flowing in the loop. In this process, signal from monitoring signals generator is fed to processing device input, monitoring signals of certain frequency are generated over loop until monitoring signal reaches processing device input. Processing device processes input signals of receiver. In case of presence of signal about generator activation and absence of monitoring signal from receiver, open circuit is determined and recorded, signal to driver alert equipment in cabin is issued.
EFFECT: continuous wheel contact with rails monitoring, informing driver about this and higher safety of vehicle travel.
