FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: centrifugal separator, particularly a decanter centrifuge, comprises a casing rotating around, preferably horizontal, axis of rotation passing in the longitudinal direction of the rotating casing. The rotating casing comprises a drum and a screw conveyor set coaxially inside the said drum and rotating around the rotation axis. The screw conveyor comprises a bar body carrying at least one spiral turn, and an inlet chamber is provided in the bar body. A centrifugal separator comprises a separator chamber limited by the said drum radially to outside and by the external periphery of the bar body radially into inside. The inlet chamber consists of two cross walls, in particular, a proximal cross wall and a distal cross wall and at least two longitudinal walls passing in the longitudinal direction between the proximal cross wall and the distal cross wall. The proximal cross wall is provided with a central hole to lead-in the supplied material to the inlet chamber, the feeding holes to lead-in the supplied material to the separator chamber from the inlet chamber are provided between the adjacent longitudinal walls. The cross walls and longitudinal walls have internal surfaces in the outer periphery of the bar body, the said internal surfaces are turned to the inlet chamber. The separator comprises a feeding path passing from the central hole via the inlet chamber and via the feeding holes. Wear-resistant elements inserted through the feeding holes completely protect the internal surfaces of the distal cross wall and longitudinal walls from the feeding path. The wear-resistant elements include an element of the longitudinal wall at each longitudinal wall, the longitudinal wall element has a bent longitudinal section protecting at least part of the internal surface of the longitudinal wall and at elast one flange section protecting the part of the distal cross wall. The centrifugal separator comprises an element of the feeding zone to be installed in the bar body of the screw conveyor. The inlet chamber is equipped by the said feeding zone element.
EFFECT: decreased inlet chamber wear.
