SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sheet of absorbent paper comprising at least first and second corrugated layers of cellulose wadding, and each of the layers with a weight per square metre of from 10 to 40 g/m2 comprises the protrusions on the inwardly facing surface of the sheet, corresponding to cavities on the other surface, and the first protrusions on the first layer are made of elongated shape and the first protrusions on the second layer are made of elongated shape, and at least a part of the first protrusions of the first layer is in contact with at least a part of the first protrusions of the second layer The first layer and the second layer comprise the second protrusions, and at least a part of the first protrusions are located adjacent at least partly to the second protrusions, and the first protrusions of the said first layer are aligned in a first direction, and the first protrusions of the said second layer are aligned in the second direction, at that both directions form between them a non-zero angle alpha, and the part of the second protrusions forms rows located between two rows of the first protrusions.
