SUBSTANCE: invention relates means for automated simulation of objects. The method of classifying parts into processability groups based on geometrical parameters thereof includes: analysing the geometry of parts, creating a computer model and storing the computer model in the system as a certain mathematical description and displaying on a screen in the form of a three-dimensional object, wherein the created or obtained computer model is used to recognise geometrical components of a part: flat and curved surfaces, openings, pockets and grooves, and based on the obtained data, classifying the model into processability groups.

EFFECT: high accuracy of classifying parts into processability groups.
