SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio communication. A method of providing signal synchronisation for a radio access network may include a step of transmitting a first carrier, which includes synchronisation signals, at a first frequency from a radio access network. Information linking the first carrier at the first frequency with a second carrier at a second frequency may be transmitted from the radio access network, wherein said information is intended for use by a wireless terminal during synchronisation after adding the second carrier. More specifically, the first and second frequencies may be different. A command to add the second carrier as a downlink carrier for transmissions may be transmitted to the wireless terminal. Respective network nodes and wireless terminals are also described.
