SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a transmitting terminal for transmitting data to a receiving terminal over a direct line connection. Ensuring the allocation of data link resources is achieved by the fact that the transmitting terminal contains a receiving unit that receives a timing command from the base station to adjust the value of the uplink transmission timing for data transfers to the base station. The generation unit generates forward link timing information based on the uplink transmission timing value, and the forward link timing information can be used to generate the forward link transmission timing value to determine the forward link data transmission timing. The transmission unit transmits the generated forward link timing information to the receiving terminal, and the forward link timing information can be used in the receiving terminal to generate the forward link receive timing value to determine the receive timing of the data to be received over the forward link from the transmitting terminal.
