FIELD: metallurgy, electrolysis.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to method of aluminium production by electrolysis and to anodes for aluminium production by electrolysis. The method of aluminium production consists in transmitting current between a stable anode and cathode through a bath containing electrolyte and aluminium oxide, wherein the anode is made of material selected out of the group consisting of Fe3O4, Fe2O3, FeO and their mixtures, in essence, the anode contains at least 90 wt % of Fe3O4. During the process of electrolytic production of aluminium anodes stay stable at controlled temperature of the bath of the electrolytic cell for aluminium production; also density of current transmitted through anodes is controlled over and production of commercially pure aluminium is facilitated.
EFFECT: production of commercially pure aluminium.
