FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: passive protection device includes two rods; with that, one of them is partially inserted into the other one. In an internal rod an arrangement is made for absorbing elements, thermosensitive elements and an actuating mechanism representing locking pins installed in available radial coaxial holes of the rods and fixed by means of a thrust element. Thermosensitive actuating elements are made from a high-temperature alloy with a shape memory and installed between an external rod and available supporting surfaces of the locking pins. A thrust element is made in the form of a split ring. Thermosensitive elements are made in the form of a set of dish-shaped parts.
EFFECT: improving reliability and quick action of actuation owing to simplifying a kinematic scheme of the device and due to a possibility of preliminary determination of temperatures of phase conversions of a high-temperature alloy with a shape memory, from which working elements are made.
