FIELD: physics, atomic power.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for protecting pressurised water reactors. In the passive protection apparatus, a bellows is connected to a socket unit having N openings, where N is an integer greater than 2. The openings are arranged uniformly on a circle at an angle to the axis of the bellows. Spheres are inserted into the openings and a rod with an absorption element has circular groove with a surface which is interfaced with the surface of the spheres.
EFFECT: high reliability of protecting a nuclear reactor.
