SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fuel assembly for fast neutron reactors and methods of its using. Nuclear reactor fuel assembly comprises a casing comprising a central section accommodating the nuclear fuel rods, and an upper section forming part of the assembly head accommodating an upper neutron protection device (UNPD). UNPD contains neutron absorbers, means for reversible coupling to the casing, and a movable load, which forms the UNPD head, configured to translationally move relative to the rest of the UNPD for a predetermined stroke. At that, said coupling means are configured so, that the engagement and disengagement of UNPD and the casing was possible by moving the load along the longitudinal axis by means of a UNPD extraction gripping device, with the grip of the gripping device pins in the load and supporting the rest of the UNPD in the longitudinal direction downwards into the inner part of the casing.
EFFECT: proposed is a fuel assembly for nuclear reactors.
