FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: clearance between the ends of rails being welded together is calculated. Rails ends are cut to produce said clearance. Hydraulic tensioner is placed at rails ends. Said clearance is reduced to required magnitude by shifting of hydraulic tensioner and heating of sleeper-and-rail section ends abutting of rails ends to weld said rails together. Shifting force of hydraulic tensioner is decreased to stop the heating of rails ends. At cooling of rail weld, hydraulic tensioner is withdrawn. Weld is machined and sleepers are tamped in welding area.
EFFECT: higher stretching strain in rails after termination of welding jobs.
