FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: patient studies images through optical elements with asymmetrically distributed refraction in relation to vertically passing through a geometric centre (GC) of the lens, directed so that the refraction increases monotonically from both sides of the vertical at an asymmetrical distance from the GC, and increases monotonically by a value falling within the range of 0.25 to 2.0 dioptresnad then decreases monotonically vertically on one and opposite side at the asymmetrical distance from the GC. The image is focused either on the periphery of the retina, or in front of the retina, or behind the retina on one side in relation to the macula horizontally. The image is also focused on the retina or in front of the retina on the periphery from the opposite side, when an optical axis passes through the GC of optical elements; the image is focused on the macula with accommodation relaxed, as the optical axis displaces horizontally in one and opposite sides from the GC of the optical elements with progressive refraction. The image is also focused on the macula with a near sight and relaxed and then tensed accommodation, as the optical axis displaces vertically downwards and upwards associated with regressive accommodation.
EFFECT: group of inventions has the additive effect on several pathogenic mechanisms of myopia progression with increasing the absolute and relative accommodation reserve, controls axial refraction and peripheral refractions in a horizontal median, changing the peripheral refraction values of the nasal and temporal sides horizontally, reducing a risk of myopia, or arresting or delaying the progression in case of observing the same.
