SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of displaying a three-dimensional (3D) image. The system comprises a display (207), a rendering unit (203), means (209, 211) of estimating user presence in response to an attempt to detect a user in the view area of the display system, means (213) of changing differentiated forms of adjacent images for 3D effect adaptation in response to the user presence estimation. In the system, the changing means (213) are adapted to control the scene depth range provided by the differentiated forms in response to the user presence estimation.
EFFECT: providing automated adaptation of 3D display based on determining presence of a user.
