FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes melting a mixture of glass-forming oxides containing silicon oxide, magnesium oxide, aluminium oxide and bismuth oxide on air. Activated carbon is further added to the mixture as a basic reducing agent and potato starch is added as a damping reducing agent in amount of 1.5 wt % and 33 wt %, respectively, relative to the weight of the glass-forming oxides, followed by melting the mixture at 1600°C.
EFFECT: invention reduces the absorption coefficient of glass with luminescence with a band crest in the spectral range of 1260-1360 nm, which reduces energy losses in the glass.
