FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises oxidising aqueous dextran solution with potassium permanganate in an acidic medium while heating. A precipitate is formed during the oxidation step. Impurities are then removed by separating the liquid from the precipitate and dried. The aqueous dialdehyde dextran solution is dried by spray drying immediately after removing impurities.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain dialdehyde dextran having good solubility, the solution of which does not have intense opalescence and is suitable for intravenous administration.
