FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: two-micron solid-state laser comprises a cavity with an active medium and an optical pumping source in the form of a solid-state laser. The cavity is formed from two mirrors and the active medium used is a zirconium dioxide crystal which is stabilised with Ho3+ ion-activated yttrium.
EFFECT: enabling laser generation at wavelength of 2,17 mcm.
