FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser equipment. Infrared (IR) laser system includes a pulse master oscillator equipped with assemblies of quasi-continuous or QCW-laser pumping diodes, and a power amplifier equipped with assemblies of continuous or CW-laser pumping diodes. In embodiments of the invention, pumping of the active element of the power amplifier is performed by CW-laser diodes in continuous mode, and time interval t between pulses of the master oscillator is equal to or less than the effective life time τ upper laser level: t ≤ τ. Active elements of the laser system can contain base material doped with Tm3+ ions, or by ions Tm3+ and No3+.
EFFECT: technical result is enabling creation of laser systems with high pulse (2–5 kW) and average, 100 W and more, radiation power at wavelength selected in range of 1_85 - 2_1 mcm, intended, including, for laser surgery.
