FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at creation of universal surgical laser system mainly for use in operative urology, in particular, in treatment of benign hyperplasia of prostate and urolithiasis. Problems of the invention are solved by the fact that the master oscillator is equipped with assemblies of quasi-continuous or QCW-laser pumping diodes, and the power amplifier is equipped with assemblies of continuous or CW-laser pumping diodes. In versions of the invention, active power amplifier element is pumped by CW laser diodes in continuous mode, and time interval t between pulses of master oscillator is equal to or less than effective life time τ upper laser level: t≤τ. Active elements of laser system may contain base material, preferably LiYF4, alloyed with ions Tm3+, or by ions Tm3+ and No3+.

EFFECT: design of high-efficiency surgical laser systems with high pulse power (2–5 kW) and average (100 W and more) radiation power at wavelength selected in range of 1_85-2_1 mcm.
