FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of epoxidation of olefin-unsaturated compound. Claimed method includes activation of catalyst with acid or buffer acid solution and first oxidiser with first pH value in the range from 3.3 to 4.5, where catalyst contains water-soluble manganese complex, representing mononuclear particle, described by general formula [LMnX3]Y (I), or binuclear particle, described by general formula [LMn(µ-X)3MnL]Yn (II), where Mn represents manganese; L or each L independently represents polydentate ligand, each X independently represents coordinating particle and each µ-X independently represents bridge coordinating particle, where Y includes non-coordinating counterion and n equals 1-2. After that, reaction between olefin-unsaturated compound and second oxidiser is carried out in presence of catalyst under acidic conditions with second pH value, smaller in comparison with first pH value. First oxidiser includes hydrogen peroxide, diluted hydrogen peroxide or hydrogen peroxide precursor, and second oxidiser includes hydrogen peroxide, diluted hydrogen peroxide or hydrogen peroxide precursor.
EFFECT: reduced time of catalyst activation and increased efficiency of epoxidation process.
