FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: patient's blood is analysed to measure the concentrations of para-hydroxyphenylacetic, phenyl-lactic and para-hydroxyphenyl-lactic acids. If the blood analysis repeated for 24-48 hours shows that the total concentration of the three measured acids decreases twice as large, while the concentration of all the three acids separately tend to decrease, then the antibacterial therapy is considered to be effective.
EFFECT: method can be used for the patients of all age groups and enables reducing a mortality caused by infectious diseases and complications.
