FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatrics and neonatology and concerns early diagnostic technique for bacterial pneumonia combined with respiratory distress syndrome of premature newborn. Said technique consists in semi-quantitative detection of procalcitonin level in blood serum of newborn from 4th day by the semi-quantitative immunoassay. The increased procalcitonin level in blood serum to 2 ng/ml and more enables to diagnose bacterial pneumonia combined with respiratory distress syndrome.

EFFECT: application of the technique allows improving essentially early diagnostics of bacterial pneumonia combined with respiratory distress syndrome of premature newborn.
