FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: according to the method, successive reception of sounding signals of a moving source, determination of a point of time of arrival of the first received sounding signals is performed, which differs by the fact that new operations are introduced, and namely: there successively measured are points of time ti of reception of n sounding signals, where n is at least 3; time interval Tk is determined between moments of arrival of every two sounding signals Tk=ti+1-ti following one after another; difference of measured time intervals ΔTm=Tk+1-Tk is determined, where m - number of measurement of difference at successive time intervals; a subtraction sign of time intervals is determined; the first difference of time intervals is stored; the next difference of time intervals is determined; if difference of intervals has a minus sign, then, cosine of a heading angle of movement of the source is determined as ratio of every next difference to the first difference of time intervals; heading angle of movement of the sounding signal source is determined as a value inverse to a cosine of the measured ratio; if the measured value of difference is positive, then, the sounding signal source is deleted, and a cosine of the angle is calculated as the ratio of the first difference to every next one.

EFFECT: providing a possibility of determination of change in a heading angle of movement of a sounding signal source, rate of change of its movement direction.
