SUBSTANCE: invention is used in hydroacoustic systems under development. The result is achieved by the proposed method for determining the parameters of manoeuvring the source of probing signals, containing the sequential reception of probing signals from a moving source, the sequential measurement of time points ti of receiving n probing signals, where n is at least 3, determination of time intervals Tk and Tk+ 1 between the moments of arrival of each of the two consecutive probing signals, where Tk =ti+1-ti, Tk+1=ti+2-ti+1. According to the invention, before measuring the time points of receiving probing signals and the intervals between them, the speed of movement of the receiver is reduced to a minimum value, the direction G0 to the source of PS is measured, the direction U0 of the receiver is chosen in such a way that the condition G0-U0=90° or G0-U0=270° is ensured, the ratio between Tk and Tk+1 and the heading angle of movement of the source of probing signals are determined.
EFFECT: determination of parameters for manoeuvring of a source of probing signals (PS).
