SUBSTANCE: in the method of actuating movable elements of a clock mechanism of a mechanical clock, the clock mechanism is actuated using a thermal engine configured to convert temperature difference in space into movement of movable elements of the clock mechanism. The apparatus for automatic actuation of movable elements of a clock mechanism comprises a thermal engine configured to convert temperature difference at two different points in space or on surfaces or on the surface and space into movement of the clock mechanism.
EFFECT: facilitating automatic winding and unwinding of a motor of a clock mechanism without external action of a user by using temperature difference of different areas in space, high accuracy, reliability and longevity of the clock mechanism, high power of automatic winding and unwinding and enabling use of additional devices in clocks as drives.
