FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to population genetics and is intended for maintaining viability of populations of animals or plants in urbanized territories. In investigated urbanized territory polymorphic loci parts, allel frequencies and number of populations species of animals and plants are determined. Viability coefficient (Vc) is determined by formula. If Vc ≥ 0.9, population does not require recovery. If 0.9 > Vc > 0.5, population needs recovery. If Vc ≤ 0.5, population needs urgent recovery. When obtaining Vc < 0.9, genetic material of reference population is introduced.
EFFECT: invention provides viability of populations of animals or plants in urbanized territories by defining of Vc and introduction of genetic material of reference population.
