FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and may be used in continuous casting of bars at plants of vertical type. The device comprises a crystalliser with a gas cooling jacket and a working bushing with gas nozzles connected with the gas jacket. Gas nozzles are arranged in rows along the axis of the bushing in staggered order so that areas of their output cross sections are partially closed in horizontal planes. Cooling gas is supplied to the side surface of the formed bar in the form of a circular field under pressure, exceeding the metal pressure. The circular field of the cooling gas is formed during rotation of the working bushing with nozzles.

EFFECT: invention provides for increased speed of casting.
